Revlon Colorburst Balms

Revlon Colorburst Lacquer and Matte Balms

I think Revlon have been getting it spot on recently with their lip products. I am a huge fan of their glosses and lip butters and their newest release, the Colorburst Balms did not disappoint.

The Colorburst Balms are tinted retractable chubby crayons, not too different from the Clinique Chubby Sticks. Revlon released their Colorburst Balms in both a hi-shine and a matte finish, the Matte Balm and the Lacquer Balm. Both balms are infused with a balm like moisture and contains shea, mango and coconut butter.

I spent alot of time in store swatching these balms and I opted for 3 shades, two lacquer and one matte balm. The first shade is Whimsical and is a lacquer balm. The lacquer balms have a hi-shine finish like a gloss but are equally as moisturising as a balm. They feel super soft and comfortable on the lips and come in 10 shades. The balms have a mint scent, which I believe to be super refreshing on the lips.

The shade Whimsical is a medium/dark cool toned pink with small flecks of glitter. This shade applied semi-opaque and gave  a lovely even finish. Lovely shade that could be worn day or night for a 'pop' of colour.

The next shade I selected was Elusive and is a matte balm. This shade is a cool toned light-medium pink and has a lovely matte, velvety finish. I think that this shade would suit all skin tones and I love to wear this one during the day to give a little something to my lips.

The last shade I opted for was Demure. Again, this shade is a lacquer so has that hi-shine finish like Whimsical. This shade also has small flecks of glitter running through it and is a pretty pale pink/nude shade. This shade doesn't give a great deal of colour upon application, compared to the bolder shades in the range, but it is just as pretty and is great for a everyday, played down lip.

Overall, these Colorburst Balms are £7.99 and I think they are great. I cannot make my mind up which I like best in terms of the matte or lacquer balms, but my favourite shade is Whimsical. I will definitely be checking out some of the other colors from this range.

XOXO
