bareMinerals SPF15 Matte Foundation
I have never been a huge fan of mineral foundations and when ever I have tried them, I have always returned back to my trusted liquid foundation. Some that have tried have been either; 'cakey' looking on the skin, have gone patchy throughout the day or have been unsuccessful at controlling shine.
One of the most talked about mineral foundations on the market is bareMinerals. I tried the original formulation of this foundation a while back and so when I heard that they had since released a Matte formula, I knew I had to try this!
I purchased this foundation recently from http://www.beautybay.com as it was on special offer for £19.25 (should be £25.00) and they also offered free delivery. I purchased the shade Medium C25, and it is a pretty good match for my skin tone. This foundation is available in 20 shades and range from quite fair to dark shades.
This new matte formula helps to absorb excess oil and eliminate shine for a natural matte finish. I can say that it this foundation DOES leave your skin looking and feeling matte but like many other foundations, I still had to touch up throughout the day as my T-Zone began to look oily. This foundation also claims to help minimise the appearance of pores and promotes cell turnover for fresher, smoother skin. I personally believe that this foundation makes my pores look more evident if anything. It terms of covering redness, pigmentation and blemishes, this foundation is superb, but I believe it failed to minimise the pores at the side of my nose.
Being a mineral foundation, this foundation is obviously in loose powder form. I applied this foundation with the bareMinerals Full Coverage Kabuki Brush, which is excellent to use with this product. I find this foundation pretty easy to apply. It feels light on the skin and buffs into the skin effortlessly, just be sure not to use too much!
Overall, this foundation is good, just not great! I have never been a huge fan of mineral foundations, so maybe I am a little bias. I have read many excellent reviews on this product and alot of people say that this foundation works wonders for them, I just didn't see that myself.
Have yuou guys tried this product? If so please leave your comments and let me know what you think and if it worked for you!
XOXO
